AGB Thursdays: Julián Pernett Castilla and Friends

We’re staying up late.

Join us July 31st at 5 PM for a free musical performance in the atrium! Led by Tampa based pianist and improviser Julián Pernett Castilla alongside saxophonist Aaron West and percussionist Matthew Korloch, this recital will be inspired by current exhibitions at the Museum.

Julián Pernett Castilla’s music reflects his Colombian Caribbean heritage and his passion for improvisation that is rooted in classical and Afro-Latin jazz fusion traditions. A professor of music at St. Leo University, Julián received his Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from the Universidad Juan N. Corpas (Bogota, Columbia), a Master’s of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Southern Mississippi, and a Master’s of Music in Jazz Studies from the University of South Florida.
